ARTIST BIO

Maria Knier is an Milwaukee artist. Maria has been painting, drawing and sculpting as long as she can remember. She says all of her creations come from her heart as much as they do her hands and she primarily loves creating work that is nature-based and quirky. Maria has a BFA in illustration from Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design and has been hired by both national and international companies for her work as an illustrator. Her lifelong dream of writing and illustrating her own two storybooks earned her three Indie Book Awards. Maria has spent the last few decades studying the ancient practice of Ayurveda, and her love of the healing arts bleeds into all aspects of her life. It is especially apparent in her art.
